As one of 26 Group 1 winners for his sire Medaglia d’Oro, Vancouver’s exceptional juvenile form saw him awarded Champion 2YO Colt honours and a Timeform Rating clear of any of his peers.
Vancouver was an undefeated two-year-old, all wins at stakes level, which culminated in the sire-making Group 1 Golden Slipper.
Along his two-year-old journey, Vancouver defeated Group 1 winners; English, Exosphere and Single Gaze, showing the utter class he will always possess.
An outstanding type with a great page and more importantly putting the score on the board as a proven stallion, Vancouver is out of multiple stakes placed Danehill mare Skates, herself a daughter of Champion 3YO Skating. One of three stakes winner for his dam, Vancouver is a half-brother to Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes winner Juste Momente.
Now into his second season at Woodside Park Stud with his oldest runners just five, Vancouver is already the sire of winners in 11 countries, including stakes performers in five different countries.
A producer of 10 stakes winners, five at Group 2 level, Vancouver recently took out his maiden Group 1, thanks to his star sprinting son Overpass, who won the 2023 Winterbottom Stakes.

Vancouver has sired 10 individual stakes winners which includes four Group 2 winners and his recent Group 1 winner Overpass.
Overpass, a $4 million earner, defeated superstar mare Amelia’s Jewel in the inaugural Quokka in Western Australia, with Group 1-winning sprinter Uncommon James and Group 1 placed Asfoora in behind.
Overpass subsequently came out and finished less than one-length away in second spot in the Group 1 Doomben 10,000, beaten by Everest winner Giga Kick.
In late 2023, the son of Vancouver went back to Perth and claimed the Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes, a win that was well deserved for both son and sire.
Group 2 winner and Group 1 place getter Vangelic has earned nearly $1.5 million on the track and was purchased for $1.5 million by Coolmore at the 2023 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale.
Vancouver is by world-class sire Medaglia d’Oro, Vancouver is the ONLY two-year-old Group 1-winning son of his sire in Australia.
Medaglia d’Oro has proven himself to produce champions of racing around the world including Hong Kong legend Golden Sixty, and Australian three-year-old Group 1 winners Flit and Astern.
Not only a sire of racetrack champions, but he is also proving himself as a sire of sires including; Astern, Violence, Bolt d’Oro etc.
Out of the multiple stakes placed Danehill mare Skates, herself a daughter of Champion and dual Group 1 winner Skating, Vancouver is a half-brother to the Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes winner Juste Momente and to the Listed winner Captain Coltish.
Other successful stallions out of Danehill mares include Frankel, Shocking, Teofilo, Siyouni, Intello and many more.
From a family always on the move, Vancouver’s pedigree contains stakes winners Murtajill, Sunset Run, Biscayne Bay, Tenley, Bradury’s Luck, Indy Car and Zauberin.
