It was a fantastic day’s racing at Eagle Farm on Saturday with two G1 races, highlighted by Written Tycoon achieving his ninth individual G1 winner when Edmonds Racing’s Tyzone captured the Stradbroke Handicap.
Second to Trekking 12 months prior, Saturday’s victory took Tyzone’s record to 17 career wins and over $1.2m in earnings.
Standing the 2020 season at Arrowfield Stud in the Hunter Valley, Written Tycoon is the only active sire to have produced two individual Australian G1 winners in 2020, further highlighting the outstanding success of the multiple Victorian Champion Sire.
A thrilling finish in the TAB Stradbroke Handicap as Tyzone who ran second in last year's race has come back to win the 2020 edition for @EdmondsRacing and Robbie Fradd @TrentEd1 @RaceQLD @BrisRacingClub pic.twitter.com/dwVpIcchUu

2YOs In Top Form
The other feature race on the card was the G1 JJ Atkins, and while Woodside Park Stud didn’t have a runner in the race, the results were noteworthy for the progeny of our stallions.
Second in the race was Proven Thoroughbred’s Gotta Kiss who was beaten home a week prior by Rich Enuff’s exciting filly Plutocrat at Listed level.
The third placed The Drinks Cart had beaten Written Tycoon filly Written Beauty the start prior at the Gold Coast Turf Club, with that filly coming out on Saturday and recording a class record to break her maiden by 6 lengths for trainer Bryan Guy and owner Orbis Bloodstock.
So big is the opinion of Written Beauty, that if she has won on debut, then she would’ve started in Saturday’s JJ Atkins!
