Overnight at Doncaster racecourse in the UK, the Andrew Balding-trained Foxtrot Lady became the latest stakes winner for Foxwedge, when the talented mare landed the G3 Sceptre Fillies’ Stakes in impressive fashion.
Ridden to a length and a half win by Champion jockey Frankie Dettori, the mare was bred by Jeff Smith’s Littleton Stud, Foxtrot Lady has the overall record of five wins from 28 starts.
A half-sister to G3 winner Dancing Star from good producer Strictly Dancing, a Danehill Dancer daughter of G1-winning sprinter Lochangel, Foxtrot Lady’s black type victory will ensure she’s a valuable broodmare prospect at the end of her racing career.
One of 45 world wide stakes performers for Foxwedge, it has been a strong 2020 so far with seven stakes performers in four different countries and as we head into the Victorian Spring Carnival, we look forward to further success.
With his first Woodside Park Stud conceived crop arriving this season, Victorian breeders have been extremely supportive of the G1-winning son of Champion Sire of Fastnet Rock since his relocation, and are once again booking mares back in.
