Another Group 2 for Written Tycoon’s gallant Super Cash

Gallant is certainly the right word for the tough win of the Written Tycoon sired, Super Cash in the Group 2 Schillaci Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday.

With Illustrious Lad hitting the front and looking like the winner at the 150-metre mark, Trainer Andrew Noblet’s Super Cash was able to wear down her rivals in the shadows of the post to claim another first-up victory.

Jockey Katelyn Mallyon was delighted to claim another Group 2 win aboard this mare for some of her biggest supporters.

“I am so lucky, all the owners and Nobby have been fantastic, and I am very lucky to be a part of the stable.”

“She is a ripping horse, especially first-up and Nobby placed her terrifically.”

“It is great to get a win over the Spring Carnival with her. She does everything that I ask and hopefully she achieves a deserved Group 1, because she is good enough.”

Noblet was undecided what path Super Cash will follow for the rest of her 2017 Spring Racing Carnival campaign.

She holds nominations for the Group 1 Manikato Stakes at Moonee Valley on October 27, which suits her as a front-runner, as well as Group options on Derby Day, and the Group 1 Darley Classic on Stakes Day.

Super Cash was bred and raced by long-term Woodside Park Stud client Steve Millar and Peter Robinson, from their brilliant broodmare, Super Bucks.

“There are a few very good options for her, and as long as her races are spaced, her next up run should be just as good. The Group 1 Darley won’t be easy, but on a good day she can beat anyone, and she deserves her shot at the big one.” Millar said.

Being the only original owner left in Written Tycoon, with one exceptionally good share, Millar has sent Super Bucks back to the Champion Stallion this year and is in foal with a full relation to Super Cash on the way.

With around a dozen mares, Millar partners with Sam Hayes at Cornerstone Stud, and will be supporting not only Woodside’s Written Tycoon this year, but also his outstanding son, Rich Enuff and young gun sire, Zoustar.

“Sam used to work for me in a previous life, and now he is back in the family business, we are good friends and work together on the pedigree plans and matings,” Millar said.

“Super Bucks was a good winning race mare, but she has been a sensational broodmare. She has now produced three winners including Super Tycoon who won four Sydney races in a row at Randwick and Rosehill.”

“Her third foal, Fast Tycoon, has had a win for Hayes, and a full sister was foaled last year. She back in foal to him again this year, and hopefully her best days as a mum are still ahead of her. We will certainly be retaining Super Cash as a broodmare for the future.”

“I want to say big thanks to Sam Hayes, he has been a wonderful help, and thanks to my partner Peter Robinson, we have had some real fun together with this, on our retirement.”

“The other people that have done an amazing job are her trainer Andrew Noblet and jockey Katelyn Mallyon.”

“Katelyn has been fantastic, and as owners, we are very, very happy with her. She gets her away beautifully at the start, and she deserves every success, she is a great jockey.”

“We are thrilled, and adore going to the races, and we can’t wait to be there cheering Super Cash home on the day.”

Standing at Woodside Park in Victoria, Written Tycoon has now produced 21 stakes winners and stands this season at a fee of $88,000 inc. GST.
